Weight Loss, Metabolic Syndrome & Diabetes

There are many conditions that are related to carrying excess body weight including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Metabolic syndrome
  • Diabetes Mellitus Type II
  • High cholesterol (hyperlipidemia)
  • Cardiovascular disease (heart disease, stroke)
  • Some forms of cancer
  • Polycystic Ovarian syndrome

  • Etc.

Many leading health organizations now recommend lifestyle modification as the "first-line of therapy" to help prevent these comorbid conditions and help to sustain weight loss.  Dr. Hitkari can help you find balance in your life, both nutritionally and through physical activity, to help you attain a healthy body composition. See the descriptions below of the two programs Dr. Hitkari utilizes in her clinic to get her patients on the right track towards a healthy lifestyle.

  • Decreased joint pain and headaches

  • Increased energy

First-Line Therapy:

The First Line Therapy Program (FLT) is a comprehensive program that is used to address unwanted weight gain and lifestyle-related health concerns such as those listed above. There have been many clinical studies conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of the FLT program, which have been published in numerous medical journals.

This program is based on clinically effective means of promoting healthy body composition, meaning it helps to reduce unwanted excess body fat while maintaining muscle mass. All First Line Therapy plans include a support manual, clinical nutrition menu planning, exercise programs, stress counseling/treatment, and Bioelectric Impedance Analysis testing.  A Bioelectric Impedance Analysis (BIA) test provides information on your body composition, including fat mass and lean body mass.  It helps to assess your body's overall cellular hydration, the health of the cells and basal metabolic rate (BMR). After conducting a BIA test, Dr. Hitkari, Naturopathic Physician, provides you with an individualized program to address your body's particular needs.

Lipo-MIC Injections

Lipo-MIC injections are weekly injections that contain a highly-absorbable blend of minerals, vitamins and amino acids that individually are believed to help to get rid of stubborn body fat and boost energy. The ingredients have a long track record of safety, which helps to make the decision as to whether or not they are a good choice for you, easier.

When it comes to weight loss, Dr. Hitkari, Naturopathic Physician, begins by screening for conditions that predispose you to the inability to lose weight.  Such conditions may include hormone imbalance, thyroid disease, adrenal fatigue and/or food allergies and sensitivities.
